In 2003,
Vervacious founders Heidi and Mark sold their New England Seacoast
home and moved aboard their sailing ketch Verve. They cruised the
east coast of North America from Newfoundland to North
Carolina, island-hopped the Lesser Antilles, then sailed
across the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Azores to
Portugal. After a summer
along the coasts of Portugal, Southern Spain and the
Balearic Islands they wintered in lovely Barcelona.
These days they are sailing and discovering the world's very best
ingredients along the coast of the Mediterranean.
Prior to life at sea Heidi and Mark
juggled careers in high-tech with their love of food and travel.
They have lived and cooked at various times in Paris, London
and Northern California – as well
as in their 200 year-old Federal-era home, which they themselves
faithfully restored.
Vervacious started seeking
out the finest ultra-fresh truffles for discerning chefs
across the country during 2004. The accolades continue pouring in
week after week…
Heidi, a life-long foodie, cookbook
collector and outstanding cook, trained at Le Cordon Bleu while
living in Paris. In 2001 Heidi founded the
Eat, Drink and be Literary (EDABL) foodie bookclubs which today
boast members in three states.
Mark co-founded Mint Technology, a
computer engineering consulting company. As head of Marketing and
Business Development, Mark opened Mint design centers across the
US and Europe. In 1997 Mint Technology was
successfully acquired by and integrated into a leading supplier of
computer, communications and consumer
electronics.
